Privacy Notice


This privacy notice tells you what to expect when Heal and Learn Foundation collects personal information. It applies to information we collect about:
people who use our services, eg:
- who complete a booking form for one of our training courses or subscribe to -our electronic newsletter;
- visitors to our websites;
- people who contact us via social media;
- people who contact us by email.

What information do we ask for, and why?
We do not collect more information than we need to fulfil our stated purposes (delivering inspirational one day training events) and will not retain it for longer than is necessary. You don’t have to provide what we ask for but it might affect your application for one of our courses if you don’t. 

Course booking form
We have to hold the details of the people who have requested our service in order to provide that service. e.g. we collect your name, address, email and telephone number, special dietary requirements and details of course(s) you wish to attend, so that we are able to invoice you accordingly and inform and remind you of the training event details nearer the date.
Special dietary requests may be shared with a third party caterer.

E- newsletter
We use Mailchimp, to deliver our occasional e-newsletters. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using mailchimp's technologies, to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter.
When people do subscribe to our services via our website, social media platform or on an application to one of our events, they can cancel their subscription at any time and are given an easy way of doing this.
We do not share your information with any other party.

People who contact us via social media
We manage our social media interactions.
If you send us a private message via social media we will not share that message with any other party.

People who email us
We manage our own email account.
If you send us a private message via email we will not share that message with any other party.

We will also monitor any emails sent to us, including file attachments, for viruses or malicious software. Please be aware that you have a responsibility to ensure that any email you send is within the bounds of the law.

How long do we keep your data?
The information you provide on your booking form will not be kept for longer than is necessary. This is informed by legal requirements and the requirements of individual insurers. This is currently 5 years from the date of the event you attended. Written or electronic applications to one of our events are archived after the event and stored securely in a locked cabinet or on password-protected devices and email accounts.

Access to personal information
We only hold the data you provide by written or electronic completion of our booking form, by agreeing to receive our e-newsletter or by contacting us by email or social media.
Individuals can find out if we hold any personal information by making a ‘subject access request’ under the Data Protection Act 1998. If we do hold information about you we will:
            •           tell you what it is;
            •           change or delete it at your request and if legal to do so.

To make a request for any personal information we may hold you need to put the request in writing to the address provided below.

Disclosure of personal information
We will not disclose personal data without consent.
There are circumstances where we can pass on personal data without consent for example,
to prevent and detect crime;
to produce anonymised statistics.
